Move With Faith in the Lord

1 Samuel 14 | Michael Mears | 7/20/25

This week, we continue our series, Quest for a King, in the book of 1 Samuel. In chapter 14, Saul’s son Jonathan and his armor bearer take on several Philistines. Saul forbids his soldiers from eating, but Jonathan doesn’t know and disobeys his father, which usually would mean death for Jonathan. However, the soldiers defend him, and Jonathan’s life is spared.

Michael highlights three aspects of the text:

1) The People of Saul and Jonathan

2) The Postures of Saul and Jonathan

3) The Foolishness of Saul and Jonathan
