God Uses Prayer to Shape Generations

1 Samuel 1 & 2 | Eric Hovis | 5/10/26

Today we start our new series, Who is King?, in 1 Samuel. In chapters 1 and 2, we see Hannah beg God for a child in prayer. God gives her a son named Samuel, and she praises God for His faithfulness in answering her prayer.

Pastor Eric shares three points as we work through the text:

1) A praying mother brings her pain to God (1:10-12).

2) A praying mother surrenders what she loves most (1:11, 27-28).

3) A praying mother trusts in God’s sovereignty (2:1-10).
