1 Samuel 16 | Eric Hovis | 5/17/26

Today we continue in our series, Who is King?, in 1 Samuel. In chapter 16, we see the prophet Samuel travel to Bethlehem in search of a new king to anoint after the fall of King Saul. God leads him to David, son of Jesse, who is found working out in the fields as a shepherd.

Pastor Eric shares three points as we work through the text:

1) God rejects the world’s measure of leadership.

2) God prepares leaders in the hidden places.

3) God empowers the called.
